It is essential that analysts have an in-depth knowledge of hydrocarbon gas sampling and analysis methods such as Dewpoint, H2S and CO2. These simple tests must be performed safely and to a high level of accuracy to ensure compliance with pipeline export and fuel gas quality specifications. Failure to perform these tests correctly may result in equipment damage, noncompliance or pipeline corrosion.
This half day module provides training in inspection and maintenance of gas detection equipment from Draeger and Gastec, providing emphasis on how to use and read stain detection tubes correctly to avoid recording inaccurate results.
Trainees will learn how to use a dewpoint analyser correctly, inclusive of initial set-up and calibration, how to sample and purge lines, identify possible carry-over of water or hydrocarbons and how to protect the analyser.
