Fundamentals of Water Analysis

Process chemists are often required to test a variety of waters inclusive of produced water separated from crude oil, condensate or gas systems; water that is injected into the reservoir for pressure support; through to potable drinking water. A thorough understanding of analytical techniques, particularly interferences and problems that can occur, is essential in obtaining accurate analysis results.

Theoretical and practical training will be given within the NuLab Laboratory Training Centre covering the use of laboratory test kits by manufacturers such as HACH – Lange, CHEMetrics and Lovibond.

We shall provide practical training in key analysis techniques such as Chloride analysis by MOHR titration, calibration and measurement of pH. Tuition shall also include the principles of Conductivity, Millipore and Particle Size Analysis, Total Dissolved Solids and Silt Density Index.
